John Athanasopoulos
John is a lifelong resident of Pape Village and a local business and property owner with deep ties to the community. John brings professional leadership experience from over 30 years in corporate banking. As the Chair of the Pape Village BIA, John is interested in overseeing the beautification, maintenance, and promotion of the area as a business and shopping attraction.
Our mission is simple yet impactful: to create a dynamic business environment that attracts visitors, supports local entrepreneurs, and cultivates a sense of belonging among residents. From captivating boutiques and locally-run eateries to pioneering startups and longstanding establishments. Pape Village epitomizes a nexus of creativity and potential. Upholding our cherished heritage while embracing evolution and ingenuity. We are committed to preserving Pape Village BIA as a favoured destination for both present and future generations.
Our BIA
The BIA works with the businesses, government and the local community to make Pape Village a good place to live, shop and do business by:
- Acting as the voice of the community and businesses with the government.
- Maintaining and improving the streetscape with vibrant planters, banners, street cleaning, benches and other street furniture.
- Promoting local businesses and liaising with the community through local events, newsletters and other marketing initiatives.
The BIA is run by an elected volunteer Board and the local Councillor.
Pape Village is located along Pape Avenue from Mortimer Ave to North of Gamble Ave.
